Demilune Earrings – 9K White Gold, Teal Sapphire

Recycled white Gold and teal sapphire gemstone earrings, ethical jewellery handmade in Sydney.

Sapphire is known as the wisdom stone – it helps focus and bring in peace of mind.

• These earrings have been handcrafted with recycled white gold and each individual earring contains approx. 0.075 – 0.10ct total of teal coloured sapphire stones.
• Earring size – approx. 10mm in diameter and 3mm in width at the widest point. Earrings are on a shepherd hook and total drop from piercing is approx. 20mm.

Solid gold jewellery is generally hallmarked with a karat stamp. Gold jewellery is not pure gold. Because pure gold is too soft to be worn everyday, it is essential to create a metal mixture when using gold for jewellery. Gold is an alloy composition made of gold and durable metals like zinc, nickel, silver and copper, and white gold usually has a rhodium plating. This sturdy blend is resistant to corrosion, rust and tarnish.

Handcrafted in our Sydney Studio on Dharawal Country, from recycled gold and responsibly sourced gemstones, the metal used in this necklace is melted down and hand poured into a mould so that the stones are cast into place, not set. This process of sand casting, or Delft clay casting results in one-of-a-kind fine jewellery pieces. Due to the nature of this process, the stone colour, placement, texture and finish of each piece will be unique. That’s the beauty of buying made to order, handmade jewellery!
